A blend of Werribee, Heathcote and Tallarook fruit – which means grapes from all over Victoria, really – this manages to balance out sausage meat pepper and wildness with firm dry tannins. It’s just medium weight, yet carries an intensity of briary, quite ripe red fruit that makes for seriously impressive drinking, if just a little drawn out through the finish.
I’d drink this – I like the meatiness and ‘I’m a cool Victorian Shiraz’ style here, the price makes it just a gift.
