Wynns Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 (Coonawarra, SA)
13.5%, Screwcap, $40
The best Black Label Cabernet in years.
Classic Coonawarra red in classic form, with lovely cedar and leaf over a solidly rich – yet svelte palate. Pokey acidity perhaps, a full stop to what is otherwise a lovely flowing wine. If that awkward, likely adjusted acidity was better integrated this would be a superstar. Still, everything else about this wine is wonderful, with great tannins and a perfect oak balance. I have faith.
Score: 18.2/20, 93/100+
