Riversdale’s premium botrytis Riesling. Circa 160g/L residual sugar. Bottled early from what I can gather. Oh and no, I didn’t drink this with the miso…
Big hit of botrytis on the nose here. Too much. There’s grapefruit and preserved lemon in there too, before a palate of big simple sweetness without the viscosity. Sweet but light. Acidity feels natural and this is not cloying.
Friendly, slightly one dimensional style that is very sweet but a fraction lacking in punch. Best drinking: 2016-2022. 16.8/20, 89/100. 6.1%, $26 (375ml). Would I buy it? A bit light for mine.
