Reserve – aka more. With this Pike & Joyce W.J.J. Reserve Pinot Noir 2018 it means more oak, more power, more tannins. But more doesn’t quite mean more drinking satisfaction – the ripe, sappy, firm and ambitious palate aims high but ends up more statement of intent than love letter, I can appreciate the depth here though, even if it’s not my choice of drink. Best drinking: may well get better with 2-3yrs in bottle. If the fruit can keep up. 17.5/20, 91/100. 13.5%, $65. Would I buy it? A glass
