Pure class. This Oakridge Original Vineyard Cabernet 2018 is a somewhat shy – but deadly correct – Yarra Cabernet.
Bright, leafy and relatively high acid style. Cool and pencily, the palate lifted up by blackberry, with tannins that are refreshing in that Yarra luncheon claret mode. Classy, long term, perhaps a bit backward, this is wine with so much ahead of it, if not immediately satisfying.
Best drinking: I’d wait for at least five years and then drink over twenty. 18/20, 93/100+. 13.3%, $62. Would I buy it? Many glasses in five more years.
