Always like Jason Schwarz’s Meta wines. Barossa drinkability plus. This Schwarz Meta Grenache 2019 is a bright, light and vibrant style, sourced from old vine fruit, and all tank matured with 80% whole bunches included in the blend. You don’t notice the whole bunch influence, as it is well integrated into the style. Exuberant red raspberry lolly fruit is the message, no oak, just purity. It tastes warmer than 13.8%, the palate broadly generous without being over the top. Awfully easy drinking, if a fraction simple. Hard not to like this.
Best drinking: now to at least eight years. 17.7/20, 92/100. 13.8%, $35. Schwarz website. Would I buy it? Worth a few glasses at least.
