Never shy are these Blue Pyrenees reds, and this Blue Pyrenees Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 screams its origins. Nothing wrong with that either.
Spearmint, dark berries, some eucalypt, minty firm tannins. Don’t come for elegance, but enjoy the hearty, drying and rigidly powerful fruit and tannins, all delivered for a price that belies the cellarability and intensity. The acidity is a bit raw on the finish but hard to fault the length. Good, old fashioned drinking.
Blue Pyrenees Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2018. Best drinking: I wouldn’t mind seeing this with another 3-5 years in bottle, and then it will drink well for another decade. 17.5/20, 91/100. 14% $22. Blue Pyrenees website. Would I buy it? Hard to not be impressed at this price. Yes, buy it.
