This Eldridge Estate Clonal Blend Pinot Noir 2018 is a blend from 4 barrels, covering all seven clones of Pinot Noir planted at Eldridge Estate.
It’s ripe, generous and silken, although a little more diffuse this vintage – especially compared to wines like the 2019 Eldridge Clone 2 Pinot. Lovely raspberry fruit, just tending a little syrupy (but not necessarily overripe), with a fine snap of tannins to finish. High quality, if a little more rounded, and very drinkable Mornington Pinot.
Eldridge Estate Clonal Blend Pinot Noir 2018. Best drinking: over the next five years. 18/20, 93/100. 13.5%, $85. Eldridge Estate website. Would I buy it? I’d take the Clone 2 instead.
