There is a lot of delicious Mornington/Yarra Pinot hitting the market of late, and I’m very here for it. This In Dreams Pinot Noir 2021 is exactly what a reasonably affordable Pinot should be too – bright, light, and driven by lucid red fruit with just a lick of oak.
Anthony Fikkers sure knows how to deliver restraint and delicacy.
Gentle, generous enough and vibrant drinking – the In Dreams Pinot got ‘bottle emptying’ all over it. Compelling in its feather touch red fruit. Not a lot of tannins, and indeed I almost bumped this up to gold medal, except that on day two it was looking a bit faded, which is a nod to the immediacy of the style. A big recommendation for drinking now or in the next year or so, however.
Best drinking: see above. 18/20, 93/100. 13%, $32. In Dreams website. Would I buy it? Sure would.
